North Central Iowa ice conditions?

How is the ice in north central Iowa? Is there fishable ice on Clear Lake? Thanks,

i've heard that people are going out, but i would make extra sure. i talked to my folks in forest city last night, and they said it had been nice this week. nice in an 'i'm getting older and don't care for cold' kind of way. not nice in a 'made three inches of good ice' way.

haven't heard how anyone is doing. you might check out iowa outdoors, or a dnr site.

Any recent updates? I've heard that there's 8" on Clear Lake, but I find that hard to believe given that most lakes in the Twin Cities have 6" or less.

There is a good 6 inches of ice on Clear Lake. Most of the fishing activity has been on the west end so far. Hopefully this rain doesnt hurt the ice too bad.
