Auto Jigger advice??

I purchased an auto jigger last year and it really hasnt produced any more than a standard rattle reel not being jigged at all for me. What do you guys use for a jig and bait on these? I have been using a jigging spoon with just a head of a shinner or fat head? Just wondering what others do or any suggestions?

I use live bait on mine.

If you ever had a camera down, you would see all the walleyes and perch circle that minnow. If they are very active fish, thats the bait they will hit first. If they are not very active, they may hit a different line.

They do help atract fish to your lines!

I have the "Motorvater" that Fish House supply carries. That one has the slower jigging for live bait use, and the 4-D batteries will last all year. The Lindell jigger needs to be hard wired to a 12 volt battery and has a fast jerk in its motion that will kill the live bait. Personally, I like the "Motorvater" with live bait use.

i love my motorvator! i to just use a jig with a live minnow. i always hook them in the nose. during the night is the only real standard comparison i can give, and teh mortorvator outfishes the other rattlereels 5 to 1. during the day i usually dont use it becasue i am jigging myself (i have to do some work while i am fishing-i cant let a machine do everything!)bad part about it outfishing the other lines at night is that if you are up at lake of the woods, you dont get any sleep, becasue the beautiful eelpout are just too hungary!
