we finally get a cold front and it starts making good ice and now its supposed to be like 50 today and melting everything and the next week or two look the exact same way

Ya its a real bummer, but each winter seems to be getting worse,I follow the weather quite closely and in my next life Im going to be a weatherman, There is a definate pattern to this weather,staying warm longer, rain showers in Dec And January We are in for the warm elmino weather for the next 90 days, Maybe get the boat out in January

According to Kare 11, it shouldn't be to bad this next week. They're only predicting highs in the low to mid thirties.

We really need some snow on the ground to hold temps down.

I wouldn't worry too much. The low temps are around freezing or below at night and the high temps only last a few hours anyways. The sun is too low to do any real damage to the ice.

Your right though, we need a good blanket of the white stuff.

Looks like the mild weather will hold through the week. Starting Monday the 18th, temps drop down again. Hopefully that will put the final layer on we need before xmas.
