ATV Weight

I have a trailer for my Snowmobile. It needs new springs as it rides down the road a little tilted. I don't own an ATV, but I want a trailer to be able to tow one for future use. How much does an ATV weigh?

Depends on the size of the machine....not to be sarcastic or anything. I suppose you could figure 600-800 lbs just the ATV itself. You can try checking out the specs on various ATV manufacturer sites to get a better idea.

Unless you get into the bigger cc ATVs the average one weighs around 550 to 600lbs plus whatever gear you add.

Sportsmans are netween 700-800 pounds

They are not all as heavy as Polaris, although the new Polaris Hawkeye 4x4 is only around 550 lbs. Honda doesn't make one over 600lbs that I know of. That includes the 700 Rincon auto. Several Yamaha models are under 600 some significantly. The new Yamaha Grizzly 350 Auto weighs in at 536lbs.

The Suzuki Vinson 500 is just 4 lbs over 600, as is the King Quad 700, so there are a multitude of choices under or around 600 lbs. It all depends on what you end up with but 800 lbs. would be on the very high end, but dont forget to count the weight of your gear.

Thanks to all. I thought ATVs would be heavier. The springs that I saw at Northern Tool are a 1000 lbs. They will do just fine for my current and potential needs. I have high hopes of getting an ATV with the tracks on each wheel.
