LED Lighting

People who have used the Led LIghting could you tell me what you think of it. Thought about purchasing them,just wondring if it is bright or if a lantern still does a better job. Do they use a 12v battery or d batteries. what powers them. Have not really checked them out.

Do a search for LED in the Open Water and Equipment forum and you'll have more than enough information for a day's reading.

A lot of people just use an extra 12V Vexilar Battery to power their LED lights.

There are a few threads in ice fishing section too. One that started last year and is like 40 pages long and one that started this year that is up to like 12 pages. I have a 4" round back-up light with 54 bulbs that I hook to a vex battery. Lasts about 18 hours on one charge and is just as bright if not more brighter than a lantern. I have mine hung from a ceiling pole. The biggest advantage I can say is when I am packing up i just unplug it an away I go, no waiting for a lantern to cool down before storing, no more propane to buy, no more mantles to fix and no more glass globes to break. There are lots of options out there, so I would read up on the two threads. I wish they would make them stickies and keep both threads at the top of the page, they get a lot of hits from people reading them. Good Luck.
