Canuck
The other day I watching a guy getting ready to take off from the dock for a day of cat fishing. It was quite sunny out and he pulled out his 30+ sunscreen and rubbed himself up and was about to take off. I very politely asked his if he was aware that any bait he touched now would taste like sunscreen and those kitties really don't like that stuff. He said he had never thought about it before and took some of my soap and washed his hands clean. I don't know how many times I see guys/gals eating food, putting on sunscreen etc etc etc... with NO thought of what was left on their hands.I personally carry some non scented soap to wash with but actually don't leave it there. I also dose my hands with garlic oil before I touch any bait. If anybody has any other ideas what to put on your hands prior to touching your bait I would really appreciate it.Anybody else notice people not taking note of what is on their hands when going cattin and then not getting bites????? Boar
If I'm in my boat messin with fuel and the motor i like to keep a supply of rubber gloves, or find a fillet house and handle a carcass or two, works for me. Later, boar
Aquaman01
I keep cod liver oil in my box. A little of that hides most stuff. Rubbing down your hands with grass helps, too, another post somewhere else said.------------------Aquaman<')}}}}}><{Peace and Fishes
EBass
Aquaman,I was messing with my gas tank and stunk so I grabbed some grass and rubbed it all over my hands. It took the harshness of the gas smell off and gave me a clean spring like scent.
simplefish
I like anise oil, easy to find in the grocery store and the cats seem to take a liking to it. I also buy those uncented baby wipe things made for fishing. They seem to work pretty well. I use rubber gloves when handling stink bait, other wise the scent stays on your hands for days. Nasty stuff, but works...
Guest
I agree EBass, green grass is a good scent remover & cover, I use it too.------------------Ed "Backwater Eddy" CarlsonBackwater Guiding "ED on the RED"
