I have the same heater, and love it as well. I know that they don't make them anymore, but you can still get different parts for them. My dad replaced the screen in his probably a year ago. He isn't very computer literate so I am sure he didn't find it on hsolist. I'll do some checking around and see what I can scratch up.

What kind of house do you use the focus 5 in? It works great in my single man fishtrap. Not guite powerful enough for my otter lodge though.

I just talked to my dad and he informed me that he had my mom order it directly from coleman a few years back. They didn't make the heater anymore, but they still had parts. That was probably 2-3 years back. Hopefully they still have parts. Let me know what you find out, because I know in time I'll be needing to replace something.

Good Luck,

CA

My bad, a quick google search may indicate why, coleman was sued for 10.1 mil on 6/29/05 because of a focus 5 heater that malfunctioned which caused carbon monoxide poisoning deaths. It may require a homade remedy, screen & wire at the local H/W store. They have a few focus 5 heaters on hsolist, but they're asking quite a bit more than I paid for mine.

I too looked at hsolist and was amazed as to the price of what they are going for. in fact, I even think i might have seen a cotfish bid on one of them... grin.gif

About two years ago I was at a garage sale and saw one for $20. Like an (Contact Us Please), I said to myself "I already have one of those" and not a minute after I had it in my hands my wife said "don't you already have one of those?" I couldn't seem to convince her that I needed to get a spare. Boy am I kicking myself now for not trying a little harder on the sale. frown.gif

If there was one thing I learned from that experience was to keep stopping at those garage sales, you never know what you might find.

I have (6) Focus 5's wouldn't part with any of em! 5 of them work one needs a spare burner of which I have an extra that I bought back in '94 before the lawsuit. I actually bought (2) at the time for $11.95....I think.

Wish I'd bought a semi load full! grin.gif Gees.... I could have retired on just that, with hsolist and all! grin.gif

Everytime I go to garage sales and see one.. I it! $15-$20 is the going price at sales. I've bought 3 Focus 5's in the last 6 yrs Never had I passed up the chance just because if I ever need a part... I've got it!

The only problem with them other than, I almost went died with my buddy several years ago in an ice shack, is they don't work when the value freezes at a certain temp which is single digits to below zero. crazy.gif

Plus, keeping the propane bottle warm helps but in below 0 temps forget it!
