Call Strikemaster and talk to cy in their customer service department. They have great support and should be able to help you out. (763)263-8999 (normal business hours)

Until you have a chance to call them try taking the spark plug out and spray either Carb and Choke cleaner or K+W Knocker loose directly in the port, then put the plug back in and wait a few minutes. Then fire it up and see how it runs. K+W is a penetrating lubricant and it works great for me. I use it in everyghing! You should be able to find the K+W at any Auto Value, Bumper to Bumper or other Parts stores.

Good luck,

I had a Strikemaster that acted very similarly. Took it to a local small engine guy and he found out the cylinder walls were scored (small scratches in them). This prevented a solid seal and, as a result, it couldn't draw gas. The repair estimate was in excess of $200, so I kept the old one for spare parts and bought a new one. Hope this isn't the case for yours, but something to consider.

It can't hurt and it's help me out a few times when I've had to trouble shoot as well. Another thing to check is remove the filter on the side of the gas tank. Sometimes it can get plugged causing it not to run or fire. "I'm not a mechanic Harry." grin.gif

I used to do small engine repair and I can tell you that if it won't fire with the carb cleaner than you got serious problems - try carb cleaner trick if it will fire up on that investigate your carb some more. Just my two cents. Griz29

Thanks Griz29.It will fire when I pour a little fuel into the cylinder but it won't pull in the fuel to keep running.I've got 100 psi of compression and it holds it. It's got spark so I guess I gotta get back into the carboratur.I went through it and it looks squeeky clean but I must have missed something.
