Fix The Tail

jb - I'd probably cake the bad spots with some Neosporin or something similar, then wrap the tail with some gauze from a med kit, then tape over the top of that. That should help the healing process, though she may pick at the tape, etc. Maybe spray the outside with bitter apple to keep her from messing with it?

I can't seem to find it now, but I've seen pics online of a couple guys who wrap their EPs' tails with some type of tape to protect them from getting all bloodied up. Personally,

I'd do the gauze wrap before taping as I said before, but that should help protect while in the field too.

Good luck and hope she heals up soon. Glad I have a short-tailed dog so I don't have to worry about that! grin.gif

in the farm/horse section you can find Vet-Wrap. That stuff sticks to itself but does not have any sticky backing to it and it is flexible and stretchy. As mentioned wrap with some gauze and then use the vetwrap. It comes in many great colors too so your pooch can be fashionable while int he field with the new hair do!
