Lab keeps knocking over food and water dish....problem

Hello All,

I have a 7 month yellow lab that keeps knocking over her food and water dish a few minutes after I put her in the outside kennel? I tried one of those big 8 gallon upside down water jugs / bowl things, but with the freezing temps, the water is not coming out anymore.... Plus, she has knocked that thing over too....

will she ever outgrow this desire to knock everything over????

all my labs have done the same thing. I not sure it mattered what i put in there they have knocked over/chewed most things until they hit about a year old or so. I think it is a boredom thing..they are pups with lots of energy. It did help sometimes to find a certain chew toy or whatever to distract instead of bowls.

I use a 2 gallon bucket I got at Fleet Farm. I believe it was in the farm or horse supply isle. Try looping some wire around the bucket and then hooking it to the fence.

She'll eventually out grow it. I had a pup that would stand with one of her front paws in the bucket while she drank. crazy.gif Needless to say she knocked it over many times.

As far as the food goes, scheduled feedings like mentioned above should help.
