Dirk W
Do any of you guys play with the brake system on your 7000 to get better casting? My typical rig to cast would be a 3-4 oz. sinker and a 6-7 inch bullhead. The maual says you can snap different weights on the retainer pins to help casting. Am I going to need to do this? Is it helpful? My Pens and Big Irons don't offer this.
Guest
I got a 7000 last year and found it to cast just as good if not better than the 6500 that it replaced. You shouldn't have to replace anything. I can get a good 80 feet with minimal effort with the same weight you have. It took some trial and a few errors to get it adjusted correctly. Practice makes perfect. DARK30
Hey Brian, I'd like to check that reel out. When do you work next? I want to cast it a couple of times. You have any trouble adjusting the clicker drag?------------------cast,cast,cast,cast......
Guest
I work every tuesday night at the shop from 5-close. I believe the boys got a couple of those in stock. Still working on the clicker drag part though.
