OK we will meet at the winter access off 22. Time is 12:00 noon.
I may be out there a little earlier but will run into the winter access at noon.We plan on trying near the methane hole, which is near the big point or in the bend of the "horse shoe"
You can't miss my truck Its a white Ford with a topper that has very large FM stickers on it.I will also be pulling a trailer and sno machine.
See ya there!

My intent will to be to mark a trail out there(as long as the kids cooperate). I'm gonna try to mark the hole. So I probably will be out there before noon. If you see a maroon minivan that should be me.

Hey Dark- I can get some tullibee from a friend if we want some cut bait. Sounds like we meet at the store at 7:30 and go from there. Otherwise I got some fatheads to bring.

I should have cut bait covered. I have some frozen stuff left over. Plus I just found a place that still has suckers in stock, 1/4 mile from work. Will be picking them up on my way out of town today. See everyone up there.

Doesn't look like I'm gonna make it. I was out on Bald Eagle last night and by the time I got off it was a wee bit too sloppy for my tastes. That and I've been putting way too many miles on my truck lately, and gas has been so expensive. I'm gonna stick home and work on re-spooling reels and inventoring my tackle. It's almost time guys!

I hope you guys have fun and let me know how you do!

Had a great time yesterday. The fish were not exactly jumping through the hole(except for the one that got away and came back up the hole smile.gif)We did manage to get nearly a dozen between 6 guys who fished most of the day.
It was a great day to be out on the ice though with the temps inthe 60s.We will have to plan another outing for next year for sure!

Fisrst of all I want to thank everyone for coming out last weekend and putting up w/ my kids. It was great to meet other FMers. I only wished we could have done better than we did. My kids however were happy for me that is the key. I did take them out Sunday but little luck. Just a bunch of perch and a crappie that someone left behind in a hole.

Now for the second part: Mykal is looking to go up and fish the lake this weekend what is the access from 22 that was used? I am bad with names, it was the 2 guys that came towards the end of the day. Any help would be appreciated. Also if there is any reprot on the condition of the ice in that area. I know it was by the bridge but I didn't see it on Sunday.

Hey Chemist, I think you're talking about me & my brother Rick(InnerCityFishing). Nice to meet you, especially after reading all your Horseshoe reports the last couple years. To walk on Horseshoe, I usually park just a few feet south of the bridge on 22, either behind or in front of the mailboxes. It's across the street from a trailerpark. It's not posted & I haven't been ticketed so I figure it's OK. When you walk out you have to cross a shallow rocky area with some wood on the edge of the bay. There's an island and small bridge on your left. Be careful crossing that area after this warm weather. Also, stay away from the river channel on your right. Good luck, Vern

Vern: Thanks.

You know when you guys came up I thought I recognized you from somewhere but couldn't quite figure it out. I actually thought I may have met you before out on the 'shoe but I believe it was from your web site. Don't you guys do any shows anymore?

Hey Chemist, we haven't done any new shows for about a year because everyone was busy doing other things. But we still film a lot of trips and hope to do the show again sometime soon. Next time we'll probably try to get some sponsors & expand our viewing area. It's a great hobby & a lot of fun. Good luck on Horseshoe this weekend. I'm done ice fishing, but I should be up with the boat soon for some crappies & cats. Vern

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
