what size jig do you guys use for nuggies. I think all my hooks from panfish jigs are just too small too hook through the ball.

They work on 16, 14 and 12 size hooks easily. You don't have to hook the whole ball part for it to work.

Here's a pic of the Optic Stealth size 10 with a Nuggie. I like to hook the Nuggie just through the top of the ball and keep a bit of hook exposed. A Little Atom Optic (regular) jig in size 10 has more hook shank exposed than an Optic Stealth.

Depending on your jig shape, size 12 & 14 shouldn't be too bad either. Size 16? Wow! Now we're talking small jigs.
