Help on the St. Croix

I've only been out a few times. (New to this)
Lookin to take a friend of mine wiskerhuntin.
I don't know much about the sport- I want to boat around the Taylor Falls area and camp on an island. I've caught fish at the park near Stillwater. Are there good numbers of cat's near Taylor Falls? Where do they hold and how can I find these areas. (What to look for) Good ways to fish-Daytime VS Night- Baits. We want to keep a smaller fish for camping dinner. Is it safe to eat cat's up there? Is there a better place for us to pursue givin we want to keep one. I Muskie hunt but have my thumb up my *** on this one. Thanks guys! NS
