French Spaniel
I have a question. Is it normal to get wet with Kayak paddles? I bought a inflatable canoe/kayak combo. It is made of very heavy material. It was not a cheap model. So it is ok for fishing out of. It has good stabilty and with the inflatable seats you sit up a little higher than in most kayaks.I'm used to fishing out of a canoe and using canoe paddles. I know the Kayak paddle can turn in different positions. However, no matter what position I seemed to turn it to I was still dripping water on myself. It is not bad when the weather is warm but when the water is cold it is uncomfortable. Any tips. Thanks!
Duffman
Look up Kayak Paddle Drip Rings on the internet. These prevent the water from running down the shaft and getting you wet. I think they are what you are looking for?
French Spaniel
I'm pretty sure I already have those. Maybe I have them in the wrong position. Does the position of the paddle head make a difference.
Cyberfish
when you exit the water on the end of each stroke, give the paddle a little flick to get rid of most of the water. You will still get a little no matter what. wear waterproof gloves and a rainsuit, or better yet a drysuit if you can afford it. It would be nice in case you dump it in icey water!
