eyepatrol
Wow, looking at the calendar and all the things I have going on, it looks like the waterfowl season is all but over for me this year. Busy this weekend, all kinds of work stuff next week, then deer hunting on the 11, 12, 13 and 14 of Nov., then busy with work again, then leaving to spend a week with my wife's folks out in California. Season ends 2 days after we return. Oh well, it's been a great season this year!!!!!! This has been the best hunting I've had and most ducks I've seen in probably 10 years. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get out one more time, but looking at my schedule it isn't promising. I hope you all have a great remainder of the season. Shoot a couple of those big northern mals and 'bills for me! As always, enjoy your hunts and stay safe.
Mossy19
Basscatcher, I'm in the same boat you are. I am deer hunting the next two weekends and then who knows by third weekend everything could be iced up. Just have to wait and see. It might not be a bad thing if I don't get out duck hunting one more time, I'll just have to start chasing roosters (haven't been out yet). schr0563
Basscatcher - the ducks will certainly rest easier knowing you won't be chasing them. I'm also calling her quits for this year. I got out 3 times and never shot at a duck. The good news is that next year can't be any worse. The only thing that has kept me going is being able to read the stories of great hunts on the web. For those of you still out there hunting, keep posting pics of the results.
hanson
I don't want to be calling it quits but I got dates with deer camp and the deer stand for the following 3 weekends. What a tough time of year!Is Thanksgiving weekend still open duck season again this year? Might not matter with the cold temps we are experiencing but that was one heck of a goose shoot last fall over Thanksgiving!
eyepatrol
Last day is Nov. 28 (my b-day actually). Might have to treat myself to my own b-day gift!?!? There is still the late goose season, but I'm a water hunter and the lake I hunt is typically pretty solid by that time with a couple inches of ice. Time will tell though. Surprisingly I haven't seen as many geese this year after the regular waterfowl season started. Got 4 one day during the early season, then only 1 by my dad after that I believe. Got my fingers crossed for late season.

I only shot at about a 50% ratio. Considering how close they came in, that's pretty poor. More for the southerners I guess.
eyepatrol
I told my neighbor that it was hard to leave on a day like today, especially since we hadn't gotten any geese and I was really hoping we'd see some and get a chance at some. Then low and behold when I got home I looked at my schedule and realized it was quite possibly the last hunt of the season for me. Ending on a good note, but kinda depressing too.
