Night Muskie Fishing??

Hey everyone,

I was wondering what are some good methods to land some muskie's at night. I know a couple people who have success throwing a sucker on the bottom all night but are there any other ways to land them in the dark? Thanks!!!!!

Scuba-I have had some success this year casting with topwaters, both prop baits and walk the dog, walk the dog lures when the waters calm, big bucktails and spinnerbaits with glow blades have also treated me well. I have not fished into the evening this late in the year.

i had good success trolling both spinner baits (rad dogs,M/G) and shallow running cranks (6" Jakes, super shallow bombers, windels shallow Muskie Snacks) on the weed edge and shallower this summer. one technique that worked pretty well for me was to run a spinner bait behind the boat and put a shallow running crank on a planer board and run it up over sand. you will have to light the planer i found that the little glow sticks you use on a bobber work really well for that. in terms of trolling speed i tend to love 3 mph. in the fall esox angler Josh B does an article on night trolling in the fall, he tends to like bigger baits like 10 inch jakes, believers, ect. he talks about fishing just off breaks post turn over(water temps below 39 degrees) josh seems to prefer to slow down in the fall 1.5 to 3.5 and to use the electric over gas for stealthiness. good luck Jonah
