Going down to Red wing this weekend to fish the river. Anyone have any tips on catching Catfish. How deep? What bait? Holes Flats?

HEY DOC,
NEVER FISHED RED WING FOR CATS BUT I MET A GUY WHO DID AND HE HAD PICTURES TO PROVE HIS STORIES.........BIG CHANNELS IN THE WINTER (EARLY SPRING) JIGGING SOME KIND OF SPOONS OR SOMETHING. LOOKED LIKE FUN!!
A GUY CAN'T DO IT ALL..AT LEAST THIS GUY CAN'T.
WET NETS!
