Benny
I found a station on crooked(spelling?)lake blvd just north of coon rapids blvd before the tracks. They usually are cheaper by $.05 for at least two days or so. Tonight i filled up at S.A for $1.819 , but leaving early for the lake. Good idea here, Benny (fellow coon rapidsite)
Guest
In Coon Rapids, the lowest gas prices I have found are at the Spur station on the corner of Hanson Blvd (Hwy 78) and Bunker Lake Blvd. They are always the lowest price, sometimes up to $0.10 cheaper than the stations at the Hanson exit on Hwy 10. If you're headed up to Mille Lacs, stop to fill up before you hit Elk River - the prices get even worse there and further north. Glad to see we're working together to beat this gas gouging crisis. Much of it is related to the oxygenated (reformulated) gas we use in the Midwest. It's more expensive to produce and reduces America's petroleum refining capacity, giving the oil companies and excuse to hike prices. I just came back from Atlanta - they pay $1.45 for regular, non-reformulated gas. By the way, the environmental effects of oxygenated gas are minimal and the MTBE ingredient has been proven to cause cancer. So where's the benefit? Also, remember that a big portion of gas prices include taxes. So, remind your government representatives that we need to reduce the tax burden on Minnesotans, including the gas tax.
