tealitup
I actually have this week off of work; I thought I would run out this morning and check Sherburne National Forest. Wow, what a waste of time. The Fed's have closed Long Pool to any and all boat traffic - there is NO water except for a stream. I then checked out some local pot holes without any luck. Seems this years drought has been worse then what I thought. So, does anyone have any other ideas of where to go this week? I live in Saint Paul but will drive up to an hour+. Any help will be great. I prefer to walk-in but have a canoe, boat, 100 decoys and five spinner style decoys.

haro6996
the river bottoms from shakopee through jordan have tons backwaters. J've never hunted any but have seen alot of ducks and geese back there during the winter snowmobiling. alot of them you will need a boat but a few you could walk in. tealitup
I went just north of Jordon south of shokopee and it was tough walking. The river was about 4-5 feet high so just a little too deep for me walking. But there was birds.
buzzsaw
I've been thinking about scouting the Jordan river bottom area for places to duck hunt, if anybody has interest in doing the same or getting together to hunt that area let me know. I usually go to Little Falls or Hastings and was looking for something closer to home.
