Phred52
You might want to think this one over a bit. If you melt the whole can of Crisco down in the can, It won't leave a whole lotta room for the fish (or what-ever). OR, When you drop in your food, the oil will spill out and give you a DANDY cooking fire!FLASH COOKING at its finest. At the very least, invest in a sizeable castiron skillet, season it properly (at home), and then you'll have something you can use in camp or at home. I've found I'm using mine more than I EVER would have guessed, even campfire cooking in the backyard. I've also bought a Dutch Oven for that odd order of Campfire Chili. NOW I'm hungry!! 89Bronco
If it was the show I saw, I believe she put a few scoops of Crisco in a metal coffee can and stuck it over the coals. I also think that the Crisco can is actually cardboard and not metal, so that probably wouldn't work.
