Buck12
I am curious if there is a certain way to prepare Morels, or can I just sautee in butter? I am anxious to try them on some venison chops.
redhooks
Morels are always good sauteed in butter on burgers, steaks,toast,crackers..... or you can batter fry them or toss 'em in spaghetti sauce or stroganoff. Pretty hard to go wrong now I just have to find some!
Bogsucker
Co-worker found some this morning in the Rochester area. I'll be looking this afternoon!I like to very lightly bread them as it helps them retain their moisture and size.Dip them in egg/milk wash, let excess egg-wash drain off shroomsDredge in flour, salt and pepper (or other seasoning)Shake off all excess flourFry in olive oil until just brown and crispy.Best served with fresh grilled trout and fresh steamed asparagus.
