I went out to my bowhunting area today and could only find one dinky rub. usualy i find atleast one nice rub and a couple small ones by now. does this mean im not close to a big bucks core area? do bucks change there core areas from year to year? as far as i can tell there food source didn't change and there wasnt any new changes to the woods to push them out of there main bedding area. the only difference this year is it has been dry lately, but the lake and creek still have water. im a bit confused by this.

I wouldn't get discouraged yet... I often times do not see any sign until later. Your best clue lies on the ground...tracks. Tracks don't lie. P.S. Don't muddle around too long in a bucks core area...nothing will get him change it faster than that!
