HOW TO - VS 560 Remote Control Battery Swap

I've been wondering for awhile how to get the battery out of the remote control from my Marcum VS 560 Underwater Camera. I figured it would be pretty simple but didn't want to pry apart the remote control case and end up with a pile of parts I couldn't put back together. I figured it was time to find out how it worked and I took a few photos as well in case anyone else was wondering how to do this.

Step 1:

Run to your local store and pick up a battery. The remote control takes a model #2032 watch type battery. This one is from Energizer and I found it at my local grocery store.

Step 2:

Carefully pry the remote control case apart. The case just snaps together so start near a corner and carefully pull or pry the case apart. Work your way around the case and you'll have it open.

Step 3:

Locate the battery and remove it. The battery is about the size of a nickel and slides into and out of a retaining clip.

Step 4:

Carefully slide new battery into retaining clip. The + side of the battery goes up. This is also the side that has the writing on it.

Step 5:

Insert the circuit board back into the remote control and carefully snap the case back together.

Pretty simple but like I said, I was a little concerned about damaging my expensive camera. There is nothing to worry about and this is a pretty simple thing to do.
