Jeff Dosch
Took my 7 year old out goose hunting for the first time this year and we were lucky enough to limit out in just 20 minutes. The big story though was the duck numbers. We had thousands of ducks circling our decoys all morning and my son had the time of his life just watching the ducks come in and land. Tomorrow we are going to bring the video camera out and we should get some great footage. The guys that are still in the boats are having great luck on walleyes and are picking up a few perch. The perch they have been getting have been coming off slip bobbers and are running from 11-13 inches. NICE JUMBOS Crappies have been mixed in all throughout the year and after last years success with crappies it may just be the next big thing to hit Devils Lake. This is the time of year to be fishing for big walleyes. The last three times the lake record has been broke it has happened in late September or early October. Good luck to everybody making the trip to North Dakota for the goose and duck season, if you do some scouting you should have no problem finding birds. fishlakeman
I couldn't agree with you more Jeff about the Ducks and Geese. I had a similar experience last week. Lots of birds around! Duck hunting should be great again this year. Just remember people, focus on the drakes.
