Mark Martin to the 88?

I have a lot of respect for Mark as a driver and I could care less about the drinking issue or whatever in the past. My only beefs with the guy are 1. he should make up his mind about what the heck he is doing and quit jerking his fans around, and 2 he acted like a crybaby when the 24 kept beating him and he whined and whined about not winning a championship. Tough luck dude, get faster and you could have beaten him. I think that comes from being around Rousch though, he's the king of the crybabies...

YEEEEAAAAH!!!! We finally agree!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm tired of Martin whining at every track he's no good at, blaming it on this and that. He hates restrictor plate tracks and I hope NASCAR keeps ignoring him. I had him on my fantasy league at work for six weeks and if he started to fall behind at any track he basically just gave up and then pouted after the race. RETIRE IF YOU DON"T LIKE IT!! GO DRIVE TRUCKS. This isn't your grandma's NASCAR anymore buddy.

If I said I was retiring and marketed a whole butt load of souvenirs to my fans and promised my family I was retiring and going to race trucks where its more fun, and if I had more money than I knew what to do with, I'd go just like I said I was. Just like Rusty did, with some class!

Now, if you aren't really ready to quit (like I surely wasn't and still am not), then you don't make a big deal about quitting and make a whole production of it. Just quit like Rudd and if you want to come back you can and haven't made a jerk and a liar of yourself in the meantime...
