power inverter question

I just got a 7 inch lcd tv for the fish house. I wil have to run the power inverter or buy a 12 volt plug for it. My question is----- will running the power inverter drain the battery faster than if i bought the 12 volt plug?

The answer is yes, to some extent. The inverter will have some energy losses, which vary depending on size and model. It shouldnt make a very noticeable differnce though.

I'd agree with fishermn. Roughly, I'd figure an additional 10% reduction in run time going through another power conversion.
