snowking, If you want six volts just hook them up in parallel and you get longer service if your looking for 12 volts I dont know

If you hook two 6v batteries in series you will only have the amp hour rating of the lowest battery. It's like putting one good battery and one weak one in a flashlight, it will still be weak until twoo good batteries are installed.
