Heater Issue?

I have a blue flame heater in my sleeper house that ignites very hard. I'll push in thermalcouple, try to light right away, but after a few attempts it ignites with a fury, almost takes the hairs off my arm. What should I look at as being a problem here? Thanks in advance for responses.

Your control valve or pezo ignition sounds like it has issues.

Do you have a nice strong spark when you push the ignighter?

Can you smell propane when trying to light it?

I personnally don't mess around with repairing heaters. I usually just replace them. Especially if it a control valve problem.
