Cpt. Fish
I have eaten squirle before but have never actually cooked any myself. Anyone have any good recipes for good tasting squirle. Anyone try deep frying any? Man I am hungary now! [This message has been edited by Cpt. Fish (edited 11-30-2002).]
BLACKJACK
Unless you know that you have young squirrels, they can be tough, so you need to use some sort of slow, moist cooking method. Try the old reliable dip the pieces in flour, brown them, then put in a roaster for a couple hours with mushroom soup. Or leave in the fry pan after browning, add some moisture, lower the heat, put a cover on, and simmer for an hour or two.
Nels
Try making a bisquick pot pie. I think the recipe is on the box. Just substitute the squirrel (or rabbit) for the chicken.I made one of these last winter, and it was quite good.I'll try to post the actual recipe next time I come across the Bisquick.Nels
