Closest public boat launch to Maynards

I have never been to tonka before and need to find a public boat launch as close as possible to Maynards (excelsior bay). Can anyone help? Please provide road numbers/highways or even directions from shakopee. Thanks!

The public access on Gray's Bay might be your best bet, it is a large and crowded access. It's on Hwy 101 to the east end of the lake, should be easy to find on a map or on-line.

Gray's is your best option. After that your otions are MAxwell and North Arm accesses off Hwy 51.

Comming from Shakopee I always (the 4 or 5 times I've been on Tonka) drive to the north arm, even when fishing the south side. The first time I used that ramp it was half empty even when others were full so I just keep going back out of habbit. Maybe others can chime in on this, but the North Arm ramp always seems to have open spots, at least during "fishing" hours.
