Guest
Just found this new walleye recipe and wanted to share it with you guys. Anybody have any others they would like to share?- Vegetable oil - 6 eggs- 2 tbsp milk - ¼ cup honey- 1 ½ cups pecans - 1 ½ cups cornmeal- 1 tbsp black pepper - 1 ½ cups flour divided- 6 (8 oz) walleye fillets, skinned - salt to tastePreheat oven to 400 degrees. In a large skillet heat oil one inch deep. VigorouslyMix eggs, milk, and honey together. Chop pecans very fine in a blender or food processor, mix with cornmeal, pepper and 1 cup of flour. Sprinkle fillets with remaining ½ cup flour, dip in honey-egg mixture and then into pecan mixture. Place fillets in hot oil and fry, turning once, until golden brown. Remove to baking sheet, sprinkle with salt and finish baking in oven for 10 minutes.------------------Paul[email protected]
fishinphyl
Hey Paul this looks REALLY good. I just happen to have some walleye that I found on sale the other day - can't catch them so I have to buy them! I am going to try this one. Sorry - I don't have any new recipes for you. We always just fried them with cornmeal and my grandma said you ALWAYS had to use a cast iron frying pan for chicken and fish. She was from Texas and made the best fried fish and chicken in the world so who am I to argue. If you get a chance check out the "White Trash Cook book" It has awesome recipes from the south but it is also hilarious to read!------------------Phyl
