Nokomis

Curious if anybody could give me info on what works where to find the tiger's. I just got the bug after getting a couple on Deer Lake in Wisconsin. Recently moved to Minneapolis a couple blocks away from Nokomis and want to see what I can get with out the miles of treking. Understand that the lake is electric only.

There are tigers stocked in Nokomis, Harriet, Calhoun, Cedar and the Isles (though I haven't heard of much musky action in the Isles). Don't have any specific spots myself, and if I did I would probably be a little tight-lipped about it . Download the contour maps from the DNR HSOforum, and use a canoe or a small boat (electric trolling motor helps)- some of those lakes have interesting underwater structure, and shore fishing just doesn't cover as much lake. Fish the usual suspects: channel inlets, weedlines, submerged weedbeds with access to deep water... The former state record tiger musky (at 33# 8oz) came from Calhoun. Good luck!

I live near nokomis as well. The water is very green minimal visibility so I would go loud and bright! I think electric would be a must. Let me know if you need a partner!

As to boat partner. I figure I'll embarrass myself privately for a bit. But I'll let you know when I Feel the need to be a netter for a day

While fishing Largemouth on Nokomis I have caught a couple decent Tigers. Early morning casting spinnerbaits in shallow water near dropoffs. Low light periods will be the easiest way to catch 'em. And like Commonsense Guy said also, around the beach area has been known to produce.
