How to avoid the AM radio click,click,click

Anybody have any tips. It happens to me with nothing else on. I have the radio wire hooked to 1 battery with all boat componants, ei the bilge,lights etc.

It can be hard to get rid of all the noise in AM. But, I get that type of a click if my sonar is on.

You can try to identify how it's coming in by disconnecting the antenna. If it still makes the noise, it's probably in power, if it goes away, then it's coming in via the antenna.

If it's in the power, then maybe a noise filter from Radio Shack, et. al. Not sure if there is any type of antenna filter...

If the motor was running it could be your spark plugs. You can get them with a resister or something like that and they cause less interfierence.
