I have never specifically fished for cats, although i have caught many on accident while fishign for eyes'. I'm looking to possibly get over to laSuer and trry my luck on the MN River as we have relatives over there. What are the best techniques to use. I have read about some of the bait used (cut bait, bull heads exc.) will things liek night crawlers work or not so much? This is what I have always caught them on the mississippi. Do you use just a plain hook with a heavy weight or how do you set up? Thanks in advance.

in the mn river crawlers will get you a few channelcats and alot of sheephead,, if you want bigger flatheads ya gotta fish livebait near wood in the water alot of wood preferrably,,even better if it has a deep hole round there with a shallow bar for the fish to move up on to feed at night
