Stainless Prop for Yamaha F90

T-ProGuy

Question

Looking in to getting a stainless prop for my Alumacraft T-Pro with the Yamaha F90. The factory aluminum prop has been reasonably good, but I like to potential benefits of the stainless.

Is there anything in particular I should look for? Brands to get, brands to stay away from, etc.? What to expect to pay?

Thanks!

I've got the same boat with the same motor, (2006 model) and I put a stainless prop on it and I haven't noticed a huge difference. If I had to do it over again, I doubt I would have purchased the stainless prop. Sorry, the dealer put it on for me and I don't know the brand or any other info on it.

stainless props are spendy! i think you had better figure $280 + i have a painted SS prop, that came with the boat. i have a michigan wheel on it right now.saving to trade the painted one off for a lower pitched one. i'm not much help. frown.gif

I have a crestliner 1750 fishhawk, Yamaha F90, that I put a stainless on last year... Better hole shot, better top end, and lower rpm's than with the original prop. I tossed the box, but the place I got it at is the prop shop (not sure of name) on Highway 81 in Crystal just north of the airport. Very knowledgable people there. They told me which one I should use and I haven't looked back.

Good Luck

That would probably be Formula Propeller and they probably recommended at Turbo Stainless. Most likely a 13.25 x 17ish.

I called Formula this morning...$325 for the Turbo. The price seems reasonable overall, especially since I have seen some stainless props priced around $400 for my motor. Now, it's just a matter of whether or not I am going to lay the money down now or wait it out until next year.

Thanks guys!
