Lake St. Joesph

Recommended Posts

I used to goto Lake St. Joe in the early to mid 90's with my uncle. We stayed at Camp Lake St. Joe. We had unreal fishing. 2 lbs of leeches for 3 guys for 3 days and we were outta bait, not that it mattered, still caught limits of 18"+ eyes on spoons and twister tails. I can't go at the moment (DUI and a family) but it's something I will never forget.

One special time I will never forget--- Fishing out by Grace island before a storm. (about 20 miles from camp) and we were catching eyes in 8 FOW with red eye wigglers.(you could see them hit it without pol sunglasses.!!) Soon, the storm got so close that we headed into shore becasue are lines were bending upwards due to static electricity when we casted. The next year with the water being being way down-- we went back to the same spot and were able to walk on rocks and pick up jigs/spoons that we had lost to snags the year before.

THe lake is one of the best walleye fisheries in the world, bar-none!!!! I have fished LAc Seul for years before and after, and St Joe is in another league.

ANyone get to fish "the Legend" recently????

Would like to hear some reports,

Muddy
