Duck & Goose Spots

Hello,

I am wondering if and where there may be some good public ducking hunting sloughs or fields for geese in the se area of the metro or ne area of metro. I have recently moved from North Dakota and I miss shooting the ducks and geese, any ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

Check out recreational compass on the dnr's HSOforum. It will show some public lands. Get a PRIM map from the dnr too. These are at some sporting goods stores. They shwon public boat acceses, WMA's, WPA's and all kinds of other public lands. Also maybe get a plat book for an area you are interested in hunting to find out who ownes what and then start asking permission.

Move back to ND, MN waterfowl hunting is no comparison.

Previous advice is good, just be forewarned the MN hunting has a lot more pressure that what you ever have experienced in ND.

if moving back was an option I would, if I could afford to drive back a few weekends and afford the out of state license I would, but for now, a few ducks and geese will suit me fine.
