Gadgetman
How do I get rid of these little buggers? I have pulled the pavers out twice now and poured ant powder on them and packed it back down before reinstalling the bricks. It takes a while but they seem to keep coming back. Also they are kind of a yellow/lite gold color and smell kind of lemoney when you squish them. Any ideas please?
koiboy
are they coming up through the joints in the sand?...if so use a polymeric sand or surebond to solve that problem..the sand hardens up with either of these to items... Cottco
Squint - do the granite sand - I have placed over 2,000 pavers in the last 10 years - granite sand is only thing that works - it packs well and ants hate it - weeds will grow, but once you seal the pavers, that goes away too.Hey - the second part of this is a post I found concerning hole freezing for Ice Fishing - will give it a try and let you know. When it comes to the holes, we take that large black plastic culvert with ridges, cut them to length and they work very well. you can pound on them to get them out of the ice and they do not break. As far as the holes freezing, get your self a simple and cheep battery operated bubbler for an aquarium or minow bucket. Mine runs on D batteries. lasts a long time. put the bubbler stone in the hole and walla.
