Poor Lawn

I heard of a way to put down dirt mixed with something? and grass seed all over an established lawn to help get a better dirt base and nicer looking lawn. Or were they just blowing smoke up my u no what. Thanks in advance for your reply.

What you are referring to is topdressing. There are machines out there that will spread a calculated about if dirt, compost mulch etc over the top of your lawn to help build more topsoil. Then you can add more seed to grow in your new dressing. If you're looking for a contractor ask about topdressing and overseeding.

What I will say is that your yeard has a poor soil base or is real terrible shape, that this is not the way to cure it. If you're looking to adda couple inches of black dirt to your yard and start over than the topdressing is not for you. What you would need is several yards of black dirt.
