Need a tachometer for a 1980 Merc 50 HP

My google searching has proved to be useless. Seems like the Thunderbolt ignition on my Merc complicates my search for a tachometer. The 4 cyl 50 HP Merc's are venerable fishing boat motors. Finding a supplier for a tach should have been easier I think.

If anyone would be so kind as to provide an applicable tach vendor's HSOforum I'd be one happy camper.

wouldent anny tach work ? just like in cars it just reads ofd the distro and ect ect i'm sure theres a generic tach that will work i'd call a motor shop

You should be able to purchase at Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops and order the wiring harness for you merc motor........

Most boat tachometers have adjustable settings for different motors.

I believe yours has a wire coming from rectifier (battery charger) that goes to remote (I am not 100% sure but should be gray color).

I have many boat gauges at reasonable prices ($ 12 to $ 18) send me an email.
