art
I haven't actually camped there but have driven through it many years ago. If I recall, it had some very nice big pines to camp under. Not very many sites, however. It has access to the lakes of the BW in that area. I think it is non-motorized only. Sawbill campground and outfitters is nearby. That's about all I can give you. hammock1260
We camped there last year I think in late Aug or early Sept. It is a very big park. Lots of camping with tents etc. The bathroom where we were at in the park was brand new. Very nice, showers also, everything was kept up real good. We are going back there in Sept. again.Things are kinda spread out though. The fishing docks are a little ways from the campground. The playground also, but a large playground. Kids loved the playground. Lots of sand in the sandbox was a lot of fun. Kids of all ages seemed to love it.Hope you decide to go there its a good time. Lots of campers very unique place. smallieobsession
Art and Hammok are talking about two different campgrounds. I've been throught the Baker lake campground that Art is talking about just on the Edge of the BWCA near Sawbill/Tofte. Small USFS Campground with maybe a dozed campsites - if that - pit toilets and water spigot. That's it. No other facilities. No beach, fishing pier, etc.Not sure which one Hammok is talking about or which one the original question was about.PS...as of right now, due to the Gunflint Fire - Baker Lake access to BWCA at the campground is closed until further notice also.
