Nice looking shots, Jex. I like the first one, the "environmental portrait," the best. How close did you get to the nest?

The nest is located on a central MN farm lake. It is about 50-75 yards from a fairly busy county road and maybe 20-30 yards from shore. She is easily visable from the road and does not seem greatly disturbed by passing cars. I walked in slowly from about 200yds to about 60-70yds. I was already moving away when she came off the nest and started fishing. I went back along the road to about the closest point the road comes to the nest. I wanted to us the slight elevation of the road to look into the nest. I had to use a lot of digital zoom on that one but I wanted a good look at the eggs to show my daughters.
