line out

i willing be out trolling at night this weekend, i will be using glass shads trolled on a mf 7"0' with 10lb trilene sensation. i will be covering some sand flats and deep weed edges. how mush line do you think i should let out?

bigbritt, That is the setup I use all the time. With 10 lb sensation and a #5 shad rap and using the electic moter it goes down 10 feet prety ease. I dont use line counter but I usally cast the lure out and give another 10 to 15 foot of line.if you feel the bottom reel in 2 or 3 cranks.

thanks shad rap, so a good cast plus another 15 or so feet. i am guessing around 50 or so feet huh? if i feel bottom at that length i will surely reel it in. good luck

Big Britt, When I fish in Iowa that is what I do with the pole I put in the holder and the one I hold on to I will cast out and hold the line with my fingure. letting out a little line as we troll. alot of the hits come when letting out more line and when the lure stops or slows down. I would guess we are getting 50 to 70 feet of line. Good luck this weekend.
