Free Bullheads

I live on a small private lake in Mounds View that is overrrun with bullheads, I can watch a large black school of them from my kitchen window. I think the fish in the school are 3-4 inches long and could easily be netted. If you need larger bullheads you can catch them with a hook and worm all day long. Let me know if you are interested.

Wow, I didnt expect such a quick response from you guys. I caught a couple yesterday that were about 6" I think, I dont know what a big girth would be considered, but they were considerably fatter than the little 3-4 inchers that I caught. Are they little ones of any use to you guys?

I was kind of kidding about the girth. I believe the 6" would work just fine. I don't expect to do any Flathead fishing for a while, unfortunately. I live in SLP, so I probably don't have much of a trip to get some from you.

Might want to post this in the walleye forum, too. 3-4 inchers would be
great
walleye baits.

I was thinking along the lines of bass bait as well. Without a boat, I do a lot of fishing from shore and bullies are ideal since they are so hardy. As a matter of fact I have 4 or 5 in the back of my truck in a cooler of about 3 or 4 inches of water. The water is all mucky too, but they athey don't even appear stressed yet. Thankfully, there is no sun today too, so the windows being open should keep them alive until I release them tonight.

Another great spot were your guaranteed bullheads all year long is rice and fish lake in maple grove. I caught 40 in a hour from the shore at fudruckers. The other spot where there is even more is the orono (Contact US Regarding This Word) in Elk River. The water is literally churning with them all summer long. And finally Pelican in Wright County. Is infested with bullheads,so many all perfect 5-6 inchers.
