dirtking
Out looking for boats and saw a Polar Kraft - Looked like a roomy, nice fishing boat - anyone own one - comments?
eyepatrol
I don't own one, but have looked at their fish/ski boat on-line and they certainly look like a nice boat. We'll definitely be considering this boat along with a number of others when buying next year. Have you looked into a dealer to see if they'll offer you a test drive? That's something I'll be looking for myself...wouldn't buy a vehicle without a test drive...same goes for a boat.
dirtking
Never asked about the test drive - It sure looked like a roomy boat for the money- there is a dealer in South Haven- a lot of the boats these days with the full front windshield have no room in the back - they all have those jump seats in the back as well - I couldn't see how you would fish out of on of them - and I like to look backwards when riding in a boat so I don't have to catch all of the spray from waves in my face - the driver gets to hide behind the windshield! eyepatrol
The one we're looking at has the full wrap-around windshield which really helps to stay dry. My previous boat had it and I won't get another boat without it (plus my wife who rides on the passenger side wouldn't have it any other way either).I like the jump seats personally, as the kids when they're old enough could sit back there. The model we're looking at (18.5' boat - Kodiak V 188 FS) has 4 seat bases in the main cabin, so if someone wants to either face backwards when riding or fish out the back of the boat, could sit in one of the back seats using one of the back 2 seat bases. Another plus...the seats are a little lighter colored, and don't appear as they would get as hot on a warm sunny day as some other boat brands.
