shae1986
I was wondering what size weights you guys use, what size hooks, and how long of a leader you guys use for carp. i will be fishing shallow and using mainly corn and worms. This will be my first year of fishing for carp, but i do like to shoot them with the bow, i want to catch one on a rod. Thanks GuysA. Shae
Tyler Holm
Here's my rigging for a lake with little to no wind. I like to use a bullet slip weight in the 1/4 - 3/8 oz size. I attach a medium sized snap/swivel (at least 25# test swivel). I like a mono leader 8-10# test that's around 4-5 foot long. For a hook, I normally use the #4 or #6 gamu hook that is yellow (corn colored). I also like baitholder hooks size #6. For your main line, I'd stick with mono over 10#. The mono gives you the much needed stretch on the hook set and big runs. They have weak cartilage mouths and I've found stretchy lines don't rip their mouths nearly as often as super braided lines. For a rod I'd use nothing lighter than a medium action.
