TommyJ33
Found a great spot on Tonka yesterday where the carp where thick. Caught 5 beauties ranging from 27 to 29 inches. Great battle with my GLoomis 8wt rod. Beautiful weather too! just had to share.
wooduck26
I know of a spot here in the cities that people feed the ducks bread, and the carp will start to feed on the floating bread, so we tied up some deer hair "bread balls" and litterally POUND the carp on fly rods.........its a blast but they do wise up to it quite fast....but its a riot! so haaad
Lighter colored yarn flies work very well this time of the year, especially if there are cottonwood trees in the area.
rushing
Maybe a yellow brass beaded fly?
so haaad
I use yarnflies for steelhead. They work great because they have a solid, strong hook. Sometimes I'll tie the yarn a little looser so they sink a little slower.
