Bottom line Tournament 5100??

Those who have them, How do you like the unit? The 5100 seems to fill the bill, but I have a few questions that only field testing can answer!!

#1 Do the screens scratch easy?
#2 Does the direct sun affect the LCD much?
#3 Hows the back lighting?
#4 Any thing special I should know?

As you can tell I'm thinking of upgradeing. Any info would be appreciated.

bottomline are junk, the fisherprice of locators, they work well when they work, poor durability and poor components. Go with lowrance. Good luck AJ

Thanks AJ, With all due respect, is this an opinion or have you actually field tested one? I am looking for an owner of an 5100 who has had experience with said unit. I'm not sold on the 5100 and there are several options Lawrance, Garman, Eagle I just want to stay around that price range. At the present I have a 4040 Impulse (Uniden) so I know what quality is about! It's just time to update.

I owned 2 bottomlines at the sametime, one was a tournament master, both bit the dust in 2 years, Their customer service sucks also. If you are looking to get a good locator for $300, get the lowrance x128, great resolution and power for the price, good components,(plugs will last longer)
