Happy Easter!

First off I want to appologize for not getting this up sooner I have been fishing as much as possible before we left town for Easter.

I do think you will want to hear what I have to say. Finding the fish can be a little tricky but ounce you find a school of fish they are biting pretty well.

Thursday it took me a few hours to find them but once I did it was game on as I caught fish on nearly every cast. Since I have not trained my dog how o take pictures of me yet I do not have any.

Friday was another good day to be on the water. I fished lake poinsett and had similar luck. Although not biting fast and furious we were able to catch enough fish to keep things interesting.

Here is one of the walleyes I caught.

The walleyes were not the only species boated. We also caught 2 Proud Angler smallies.

Here is the one my buddy Tim caught.

The fising is good right now so get out to your favorite lake and have at them. I have not heard from any other lakes this week.

Does anyone have any reports?

Good Luck!

Thanks Mike for the report. Happy Easter to you also. Myself and walleye wacker are planning to do some fishing next friday. Any suggestions on where to go? You can email me if you'd rather not share on the forum. [email protected]

Was wondering Mike do you hit bigstone for opener? I predict this year should be a good one. I would imagine they'd be all done spawning by then.

Just out of curiosity, what were the walleyes biting on? Jig and minnow combo I hope. To me, nothing is better than catching walleyes on a jig. Goodluck to all fisherpersons.

Mike, our results were about the same as yours. We were on Poinsett on 4/23/06. It didn't take all that long to find em, but it was fairly slow. We caught 8 decent eyes, most of them in the 18" range and also boated a dozen or so nice smallies. Everything on jigs. With the beautiful weather and somewhat consistent action, it was a awesome day of fishing. Hope I can get out that way again sometime soon. Maybe if walleye wacker happens to read this he can add some of our pictures to the thread?
